Maths

This will be set each week on a Friday and needs to be completed by the following Thursday. This will be set online using the Mathletics website. The children also have access to the Numbots website and information about how to access this can be found in your child's diary. 

Phonics / Spelling

We follow the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised programme for phonics, spelling and reading in Key Stage One. Please support your child to practise their phonemes, spellings and tricky words using the Little Wandle Home Learning sheet.

Please click on the link here to access the area of the Little Wandle website which is for parents. The resources on this website will help you to support your child with saying their sounds and writing their letters. There are also some useful videos so that you can see how they are taught in school. 

Reading

Your child will receive 3 reading books each week:

• A 'phonics' book that will be set online using the Collins Hub website/APP. This is a book that has been produced by Little Wandle and is matched to the children's phonics learning in school. A new book will be allocated online each week and all of the information needed for this will be found in your child's reading diary. 
• A 'reading for pleasure' book that they will choose from the library. We will visit the school library and the library van every Friday on alternate weeks.
• A 'shared reading' book, that you can support your child to read.

Please encourage your child to read for 5-10 minutes every day. Our expectation is that the children read at least 4 times every week at home.
